JCI Senator Conrad O'Brien, who recently celebrated his 90th birthday on October 6, 2015 passed away yesterday on October 21, 2015. The Trinidadian was the first President of JCI West Indies (formerly West Indies Jaycees) and the first person from the West Indies to lead this great organisation as JCI World President in 1964. He played a pivotal role in spreading the Junior Chamber International (JCI) movement throughout the West Indies. Senator Conrad lived in Batorouge, Florida for many years after leaving Trinidad to head McEnearney new Miami branch. He was an Independent Trinidad & Tobago Government Senator and received the Humming Bird Medal for Public Service, a national award, from the then Governor General of Trinidad and Tobago Ellis Clarke in 1975. An exemplary and visionary leader, we pay tribute and honour the life of this legend, JCI Senator #2337 Conrad O'Brien - may he rest in peace. |
