JCI (Junior Chamber International) Trinidad belongs to a worldwide organisation of nearly a quarter of a million members – young leaders in their 20s and 30s – in over one hundred countries and territories. Through various local, national and international projects and events, JCI members meet, learn and grow. JCI also has millions of alumni, many of whom provide support to active members. JCI came to the Caribbean first through Port of Spain in 1949.

2023 Projects

 S.O.C.A Project 2023
This initiative is geared towards promoting a safe environment for our major national cultural festival by encouraging moderate alcohol drinking, sharing safety practices to prevent drunk driving, and promoting safe sex while introducing JCI to the Local Community.

  UPCYCLE (JCI Rise Project)
This project is to bring a greater awareness to recycling.  Upcycling is turning trash into treasure, in doing so the finished product is more practical and valuable through it's reuse.
Although thought as a form of recycling where instead of turning waste into a new material, with upcycling you can take that product and give it new life.
With the use of pallets, water bottles, shoes, towels and tires a garden can be created to provide food and sustainability to a household.

Validate TT Campaign
The Validate TT Campaign celebrated women of all circumstances, usually, a project of this nature would highlight prominent persons.
JCI Trinidad under the international Women's Day Theme "Embrace Equity", took an approach to Validate and Celebrate women in all various levels and spaces who contribute in different ways.
The initiative featured enterprising young mothers, several entrepreneurs were featured, and their business pages and personal pages were linked encouraging support, and also assist with brand awareness.
Several JCs were also featured and their business received the opportunity to be featured.

Know your Country Tours

The JCI Trinidad Know Your Country Tours is an initiative geared towards increasing the group's networks through socializing.

Our activities targeted beach cleanups, visits to national monuments and tours of the parliament among a few. Tours can be arranged by reaching out to JCI Trinidad Social Media pages, why so serious though.. Our tours include sky diving, bar hopping, karaoke, food road trips and travel to various organizations in the Caribbean.

​Skills Development & Training

The 2023 Skills Development & Training portfolio, designed by the esteemed Project Chair JC Nikkisha Marshall, primary focus is to provide development training opportunities in JCI Foundation courses as well as skill-based training in areas such as Effective Leadership, Project Management and Effective Communication to name a few. These trainings are all free of charge.

Trivia

  • Did you know that it was a Trinidadian - Edwin Duval who introduced JCI to the West Indies, Trinidad was the first English speaking island to have a JCI organisation established.
  • Did you know it was members of JCI Trinidad headed by Edwin Ayni who brought KFC to Trinidad 
  • Do you know that Renold Cooper (Head of the Public Service), Ken Gordon (Chairman on the Integrity Commission and past President of the West Indies Cricket Board) and Joy Brathwaite (senior UN employee and Past President of Eastern Credit Union) are all past Presidents of JCI.
  • Did you know that JCI Chaconia is one of the few Local Organisations which own there own property - #8 Melville Lane
  • Did you know that JCI Chaconia built a bridge in the Toco (a remote village in East Trinidad) community which is standing till today.

Tribute to President Raychelle Brathwaite

It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of Local President for JCI Chaconia (Trinidad) Raychelle Brathwaite on Jan 11, 2015, following a brief illness. A beautiful individual, Raychelle was also the daughter of our beloved JCI Senators Ray and Joy Brathwaite. On behalf of JCI West Indies, we join our JCI family in expressing condolences to the entire Brathwaite family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Gone too soon..
