2023 Projects
JCI Antigua Senator Leandra James Cancer Awareness Campaign
The JCI Antigua Senator Leandra James Cancer Awareness Campaign is one of many initiatives spearheaded by JCI Antigua bringing awareness to the most common and deadly illness by the name of cancer.
This year committee chose the theme “Fighting Together, Tougher Than Cancer.” One of the activities successfully completed is our well known Senator Leandra James Color Run & Fitness Jam. This was a highly anticipated Jam as patrons were now “outside” since the pandemic.
We had over 500 patrons who jammed and exercised with well known dj’s and fitness instructors. Proceeds from the color run will go towards cancer awareness projects.

Recycle & Create:
To help celebrate World Environment Day, JCI Antigua hosted a &Recycle and Create Primary School Competition, challenging school-age children to be creative with recyclable materials.
The competition witnessed dozen of children from Primary schools throughout Antigua displaying their innovative art pieces made entirely from recyclable materials at the Multipurpose, Cultural and Exhibition Centre.
The objective was to instill a sense of responsibility for nature in children from a young age, recognizing that the future of the planet rests in their hands. Participants were tasked with recycling discarded items and creating something innovative and useful. Thirty children took part in the competition, and both judges and observers, including teachers, principals, parents, and the media, were impressed by the creativity displayed.
